A New Toy
Filed Under My Life | 5 Comments
In the last couple of weeks I realized it would be nice to have a little video camera that I could use to capture the grandkids doing the cute little things grandkids do. I wanted something that would be easy to download to the computer without messing with DVD’s, etc. I started doing a little research and decided the “Flip” would be a good choice. Went by WalMart and saw they had the 30 min Flip on sale for $80, normally $149. I quickly sent a request up to the finance department and received a fast approval from her and a comment that this would be a great fathers day present. Since we are heading off to the Tulsa Zoo today I should have some great opportunities to capture some fun stuff.
Hey, don’t forget to set your alarms for 3:00PM to participate in the “National Moment of Remembrance” for all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. In all our fun today lets not forget what Memorial Day is all about.

Workin’ On A Chain Gang
Filed Under My Life | 3 Comments
Our house sits on 4 acres of land that was covered with a beautiful mix of grass mostly made up of bermuda. When we built the house we had a little dirt work done but this spring I decided to have some radical grading done. It seems as though anytime you dig in Arkansas you will hit an abundance of one thing - rock! I’m talking about rocks the size of VW Beetles. I’ve spent the last two weeks a little at a time moving, raking, throwing, sweating on, and picking up rocks. Hence the title of my blog post. I’m beginning to feel like Cool Hand Luke. All I need is a guy with a shotgun and a pair of mirrored sunglasses and I’d be set.

Happy Anniversary
Filed Under My Life | 3 Comments
After a little technical difficulty (OK not really a technical difficulty, I just neglected to renew my domain name) I’m back. Today is actually the one year anniversary of the start of this blog. I started with a wordpress hosted blog and moved quickly to another host which gave me much more space to ramble on with this assorted weirdness. I have to give a shout to Scott Hodge who inspired me to start blogging and turned me on to Joey D’s in South Minneapolis. Here’s to another great blogging year!

The Token Man
Filed Under My Life | 4 Comments
We are having a brunch meeting today for the Arkansas Daughters of Zion which is a part of Christians United For Israel. I’m the token man at the meeting today who is running the sound and video for the meeting today. Sometimes the whole world is a tuxedo and your a pair of Converse high tops! I’m sitting in the sound booth just kind of peeking over the edge, drinking my coffee, and eating my muffin. How about those Bears!

A Few Random Thoughts
Filed Under My Life | 6 Comments
Before getting into the random thoughts I should let you know we got in from the UK on Saturday evening. The flight from Atlanta was rough. Really rough the last half. Thank you Lord for Dramamine. Only one person in our group lost their cookies. Well not just the cookies but the burrito also. It’s great to be back!
Now, on the the random (or maybe not so random thoughts)
- Susan and I have decided we need to be more purposeful in taking vacations. Haven’t really had one for about 4 years.
- When a dog barks, growls and flinches while they are dreaming did you ever wonder what they are dreaming?
- Why is the government talking about bailing out people who made stupid choices in home loans? Should the government bail me out of every stupid choice I make?
- Why do little kids think when they hide their face you can’t see them?
- What do they do with the pulp from pulpless OJ, put it in the extra pulp OJ?
- Why do dentists ask you a question when they have their hands in your mouth?
- Why do so many male names in the south have ie or y added on the end (Bill - Billy, Ron - Ronnie, etc.)?
- I’m convinced that in the south peanut oil is considered one of the basic food groups.
- The older you get the faster time goes by.
- Grandkids are really cool!
