First of all here is a couple of pics of the teams trip to “Nawaab”. It is an Indian restaurant that had incredible food. As you may know the most famous Indian dish is curry. There are many different types of curry. Here is my partly eaten plate of food. The first thing I ate was so hot that everything after that tasted hot! Wow, was it good.
Here is a picture of one of our illustrious team members Justin doing what I guess we could call the “sideways curry slurp”. Way to cool off the tongue Justin!
This morning after prayer with the bible school students the team went to Victory Outreach, a home for men who had been addicted to drugs. These guys are on fire for God! They joined together in a nearby park and spent about 2 hours worshipping God together, praying and encouraging one another with the Word and testimonies. After this we all met together back at the church and headed over to spend the afternoon in Bolton ministering to North Korean refugees. After worshipping together Susan ministered the Word on forgiveness to these precious people who have gone through imprisonment, torture, etc. in a effort to escape the oppresive rule of North Korea. One young man gave a testimony of how he was saved in prison in China through the drawing an American who was imprisoned in China made for him. All of our hearts were touched by these incredible people. We ended with a time of prayer. They then had us stay for a meal. If you can imagine about 20 people crowded in to a small apartment. They laid newspaper out on the floor and began to bring in plate after plate of traditional Korean food. We all sat on the floor with our chopsticks and had an incredible time. It is something I know none of the team will forget. Their generosity and hospitality were overwhelming. For security reasons we could not take any pictures of these precious North Korean believers.
This evening we participated in the once a month Holy Ghost “Inspire” service at the church. Susan led us in an incredible time of Spirit led prayer. Some things were confirmed in Matt and Julie and we definitely joined together in prayer and know some big things are in store!
Tomorrow the team will be working around the church while I teach in the Bible School. The afternoon will be some time off for a little shopping and then tomorrow night will be more street ministry. Look for another update tomorrow.
