Post Drought & Whoopie Pies

dering why there hasn’t been any posting lately (actually you probably haven’t even given it a second thought). Things have been really busy around here with the opening of our new GoKids Academy Preschool and Daycare which is requiring a bunch of remodeling in the building. Unfortunately this cuts into my time to sit around and think of witty things to post on this blog. I did manage to make a bunch of Whoopie Pies for the Youth Chili Feed and Dessert Auction this last Sunday. We raised about $1800 for the youth ministry and had a really fun time. Since I was the auctioneer if anyone scratched their nose or made any sudden movement they were placing a bid. One of the funniest things was when I went to auction the Whoopie Pies and there was a conspiracy set up with everyone there to not bid on them. Funny guys, real funny! Anyway, here’s a few pic’s from the kitchen during the baking of the Whoopie Pies. Marshmallow Fluff is the secret ingredient in the filling. When that Fluff is mixed up with some butter, confectionary sugar, and vanilla then put between two freshly baked chocolate cake cookies you have yourself a Whoopie Pie!
Yep, they taste as good as they look.

They are uber yummy! And you and Pastor Susan did a fantastic job as the ‘auctioneer and his perky assistant’! Maybe you could get her to accompany you for your next juggling exhibition/talent show appearance! $1800! WOW! That is great. And a ton of fun!
The dessert auction was, to me was the best fundraiser yet. Had a blast. Hmmmm so that’s the secret Pastor. yummmy. I agree with Darlene, you both did great, especially when you started drooling over the lemon dessert that Ms. Tina made. Sad couldn’t even talk straight.
That was fun! And, the whoopie pies were pretty good!
